Catholic Schools - Dividends for Life: Faith, Knowledge, Discipline, Morals

Catholic Schools Week begins on January 31, 2010. This year's theme is

Catholic Schools~Dividends for Life

Faith, Knowledge,Discipline, Morals

At PJPII we are incorporating our Connections theme into Catholic Schools Week.  The four points of our symbol of the Celtic Knot represent the four dividends of Catholic Education:Faith, Knowledge, Discipline and Morals.A Catholic Education has always been a hallmark of quality because Catholic Education's primary purpose is the formation of each child in the light of Christ. Faith, knowledge, discipline and morals are inextricably woven into Christian formation. One can only live a Christ-centered life through these attributes. The value of Catholic Education runs deeper than learning and understanding;it goes to the root of us.It nutures the timeless dignity of each person. Catholic Education ~ Truly Dividends for Life.

Thank you for MLK Day of Service

On Friday, January 15, PJPII students participated in a Day of Service. All students and staff contributed toiletries to make more than 150 care kits for Friendship House to distribute.  Grades 4 and 5 visited Foulk Manor North to meet residents and share in some activities with them. Grades Pre K through 8 participated in a Prayer Service for Peace and then all students worked together on Valentines to send to members of the military serving overseas. The day was a success. In addition to making a Day of Service an annual event, PJPII wants to establish ongoing partnerships with various organizations to ensure that service is a part of school life.
